"Maybe this year should be less about us and more about others"

I saw that in a Perodua advertisement and thought how meaningful that meant. Many of the Malaysian ads during festive seasons (and the new year) are amazing! They all have a message which are simply wonderful - some reminding us of our family back home, some reminding us to respect our elders and many others.

Not to forget "TODAY marks the start of what will be a remarkable year for Malaysia. It is the 50th anniversary of our Merdeka and Visit Malaysia Year 2007." - The Star. Malaysia is 50 years old now and really I would say we have achieved a lot from where we were 50 years ago despite Malaysia being a multi racial country. Along with Visit Malaysia Year 2007, I say you all ask your friends to come to Malaysia!

Although there are times when some friends ask what is there to do in Kuala Lumpur and nothing comes to mind, do not forget that Malaysia as a whole is a wonderful place. Travel around and do not stay in KL. Go to see the wayang kulit or the reefs in the eastern peninsular or even hike Mount Kinabalu or go camping in Taman Negara. If your friends just want to stay in KL, then ask them to be prepared for shopping and eating. That's what I think KL is mainly about. For those of you from Penang or Johor or Sabah or any other places in Malaysia, maybe you could comment on where and what there is to do in your area.

Anyway I am sure many of you have new resolutions for the new year. So, with the many changes everyone is making, we should try to change for the better this new year.
